Frequently Asked Questions

Yes — there’s good evidence it can help, especially when used with proven medical treatments like topical minoxidil. Microneedling can stimulate hair follicles, improve topical absorption and increase hair density for many people with androgenetic (pattern) hair loss — though results vary by person and more research continues.

Generally safe when performed by a trained clinician. Most people have only mild, short-lived redness and tenderness. Serious complications (infection, scarring) are uncommon if proper sterile technique and aftercare are used. If you’re on blood thinners, have active scalp infection, or scarring/keloid tendencies, a clinician should screen you first.

Most people begin to see improvement within a few months; common regimens are 3–6 sessions spaced about 4 weeks apart, with occasional maintenance every 3–6 months. Protocols vary, and visible change often accumulates after 2–4 sessions.

Good candidates: people with pattern hair loss and intact follicles who want to augment medical therapy; Not recommended for those with active scalp infection, uncontrolled skin disease at the site, certain bleeding disorders, or a history of problematic scarring. Always do an in-person screening and a brief medical history before treatment.

Pre-care

Prepare for your session by following our pre-care tips, ensuring your spa experience is as soothing and revitalizing as possible.
  • Clean scalp: arrive with hair clean and product-free (no hairspray, oils, or heavy styling).
  • Stop blood-thinners & certain supplements (NSAIDs, aspirin, fish oil, high-dose vitamin E) if medically safe. Check with your provider 5–7 days before.
  • Avoid alcohol & smoking for 48–72 hours before (they can increase bleeding/bruising).
  • Skip chemical scalp treatments (dye/bleach/relaxers) and waxing on the treatment area for at least 1 week prior.
  • Hold topical irritants (retinoids, retinol, AHA/BHA, salicylic acid) for 3–7 days before.
  • Hydrate and eat normally (avoid fasting); let us know about medical conditions, blood thinners, or keloid history at booking.

Aftercare

Keep your skin glowing and fabulous with our insider aftercare tips, ensuring you maximize you treatment results.
  • Don’t wash your hair for 24–48 hours (follow your clinician’s timing). Let the scalp start healing.
  • Keep hands off the treated area; avoid scratching, rubbing, or picking for at least 48 hours.
  • Avoid heavy exercise, saunas, hot showers, swimming, and steam for 48–72 hours to reduce infection and inflammation risk.
  • No alcohol for 48–72 hours (some clinics advise up to 7 days) — it increases bleeding/bruising and slows healing.
  • Use only gentle, fragrance-free shampoo/cleansers and avoid styling products for 72 hours (then reintroduce slowly).
  • Avoid topical actives (retinoids, acids, benzoyl peroxide) for 3–7 days or until cleared by your clinician.
  • Protect from sun; wear a hat and use broad-spectrum SPF once you’re able to apply sunscreen. UV exposure irritates healing skin.
  • Expect mild redness/tingling for a few days; contact us immediately for signs of infection (increasing pain, pus, spreading redness).
